I Don't Like This Blog Thing (FC)

I really don't like writing on this blog. I get it. We are all seniors and you are trying to expand our writing style in some way because we are going to college, but can there possibly be a different way to do this? I come on here and I always get a negative comment. This makes me not wanna do it anymore but I need the grade. Can you explain to me why we are doing this because I don't see how blogging is helping us. I can go on Tumblr for that, which I already blog on.
I rather we read a book as a class and either have open discussion or a quiz on it like Ms.Lee was doing. I don't know about anyone else but I enjoyed that instead of this. And I can't get in trouble for this because we can blog what we want and I didn't use inappropriate language. I'm not trying to be funny or rude just stating simply how I feel. I really hope you can elaborate and tell me why we have to do this.

  2. Well, you kind of answered your own question. The purpose of this assignment is for you to use writing as a vehicle for developing your own ideas. When teachers tell students exactly what they have to write, it actually can stifle the students' learning. The ability to think about an issue, organize your ideas, and present them in writing is absolutely necessary for college.

Reading for facts and then taking quizzes is absolutely great for assessing reading comprehension. However, it is very limited when it comes to analyzing ideas. Next week, we are going to look at a few college assignments that I found, so you can see why analyzation skills are so necessary.
